Working with a Mentor

In yesterday’s post, I talked about doing things that wealthy people do.

One of those things is working with a mentor.

I’ll assume that most of you know what a mentor is but you know what they say about assuming things ;)

A mentor is really just another name for a coach or trainer. They are someone who is already at the level in which you want to be at. In most cases they would be un-paid but in my opinion, a paid mentor would translate into more of a coaching position.

Having a mentor is a great idea for a number of reasons.

More than likely, they already have gone through many of the trails and tribulations you will come across on your path to success. Learning from YOUR mistakes is great and all but it can sure save a lot of headaches by learning from someone else’s.

I believe that if I had worked with a mentor when I first got started online, I would be much further along than I am now. I was lucky enough to align myself with good people right off the bat but I didn’t have someone take me under their wing directly.

So what can a mentor do for you?

Having someone to look up to, having your questions answered and being steered in the right direction will definitely lead you down the right path faster than you could do it on your own.

This translates into faster results, less time and energy on the wrong methods and less money spent on buying the wrong products or trainings needed to get to the next cliched level.

Your action step is to make a list of people who are at the level that you want to be at and then reach out to them and ask if they would take you under their wing and show you the ropes.

It can be beneficial for both you AND them.
